Welcome, SkyWatch Friday readers as you traverse this week's sky scenes from around the globe!

One evening a couple weeks ago I was out driving and saw this cloud formation in the eastern sky which looked like a pearl on its shell. I'm not sure how that little round bit of cloud came to be lighted up that way........a reflection from the setting sun, somehow.

Near the spot where I stopped to photograph the pearl cloud was a patch of wispy asparagus stems entangled with some Queen Anne's Lace, whose real name is Wild Carrot. There's a cornfield in the background, too.

ReplyDelete~~Pearl in a shell~~ is such a good description!
Happy pearl wedding! Nice to hear that.
ReplyDeleteIt does look just like a shell fish with pearl, funny how nature does these kind of things sometimes and just for you.
An early Happy Anniversary...!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, especially when enlarged!
ReplyDeleteI love the pearl photograph. What a timely coincidence.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your posts!! Not only because you are from Iowa but because they are so good!!
ReplyDeleteI like to look at clouds, too, and often see the most interesting formations!! But they seem to change so fast some times!! Often when I am driving I will see some fascinating animal in the sky. Of course I can't stop to take a picture most of the time but do enjoy the memory!
Take care.
Very nice catch. Amazing what we see when we really look.
