Oooh - I don't mind watching the sky from down here - but don't make me climb that silo!! Very cool perspective for a photograph. Thanks so much for coming to see the moons on my blog - and for your sweet comments. I'd be honored for you to stop by again! Happy SWF.
I must admitt, I had SWF on my mind shooting this shot. Sorry. But best of all is to sit down and just forget about time and place. Just enjoying life.
Great shots. Wow, what a big silo. I'm glad you have a safety cage, even so I would not like to be the one to do all that mountain climbing. I'm glad someone has yummy feed for their cows. It's so dry we have to buy all our feed. We have no house cow at the moment, so are bottle feeding two orphan calves with bought milk. The expence is horrendous, but what can I do? My granddaughter has a very soft heart.
That's a beautiful shot. Fun seeing your Iowa skies because my daughter is in grad school at the University of Iowa so I feel a little closer to her at least by seeing skies from the state she's in. Thanks for your visit to my NC daytime moon.
How cool to see your version of the sky from a working farm in the middle of Iowa. Thanks for sharing all your lovely photos with us all for sky watch friday.
good lord, jeannelle, someone actually has to CLIMB that thing?! Yikes!
Great point of view for a skywatch photo, though... and I see you are having nice weather! My husband was actually out in Cedar Rapids for work this week.
Thanks for the link in your post about visiting skywatch. enjoy your weekend! xoxo, Mary
Good idea for skywatch picture. I like very much the countryside and farming. Cows are my favorite animal (like my mother!) I grew up in the country near Trondheim town in Norway. There were farmers on both sides of my family. Have a nice week-end!
I really enjoyed your Skywatch pictures because you included the silo! It was an unexpected view of the sky!
One of my favourite photo subjects is old-time timber Ontario barns. I am always on the lookout for those with silos and/or windmills as they are getting harder and harder to find as they are replaced with more modern versions.
Very Cool Photos! Froma great perspective .. love it .. Especially the one up ladder. Well done on all the skywatch travelling, I jsut find it too hard to do all of them!
beautiful photos! I've never climbed up a Silo. Maybe I can't dare to climb one as I have fear of heights. Thanks for dropping by my SWF post, by the way.
Thank you ALL for stopping by to view the post and taking time to comment! See what happens when you visit MANY SkyWatch sites.....then kind reciprocation takes place!! Blessings to you all!
Those are pretty pictures, Jeannelle, very nice views. I used to climb Dad's windmill on his Nebraska farm. Now I wouldn't. Thank you for your visit and nice comment about my bear find on the fan. I am glad you are checking on all of us. I couldn't do that many. :-) ..
These are stunning pictures. I love the second one - so unique and excellent. It is like you could climb straight to the heaven. Beautiful. Happy skywatching:-)
feels like its taken me forever but I have made it thought all the sky watch posts up to yours (241)... :) will continue on until I see them all (I hope) HUGS Laura
I really love your silo pictures! Thank you for the visit and the comment. Yes, I am the person who started Sky Watch. I'm really surprised that anyone remembers.
Great shots of silo and sky! I bet you can get some great shots from the top of the silo too. We live in a dairy farming part of Maryland where many farms have already become housing developments (our house is in one of them). The cows have left the farm directly behind us, but the land still grows wheat, corn and soybeans, so many of my photos include the work done on the other side of the fence.
Gorgeous photos, and really cool perspective on the second one. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! You've been such a busy person making the rounds!
awesome shots there Jeannelle! Happy sky watching!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and great point of view - I love it! Happy SWF!

I suspect You see plenty of sky out there - the second picture had been taken a very nice angle.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment!
Yeah, I have to agree with the majority here... very unique idea for that second shot. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI love the shapes and frames created by the silo. I invite you to come see my sky views from the BC Ferry to Powell River. -- Margy
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Very interesting angles.
ReplyDeleteI really like that second shot. If you hadn't said it, this Chicagoan wouldn't have guessed. It is fresh and creative. Well done, You!
ReplyDeleteI must admitt, I had SWF on my mind shooting this shot. Sorry. But best of all is to sit down and just forget about time and place. Just enjoying life.
ReplyDeleteNice image of the silo! Our skyscrapers of the prairie.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the video of the corn. The neighbor next to me combined some today.
Lots of deer! Goodness! And I loved the old building post! Very much!
A very interesting way of looking at the sky through the silo climbing cage. I like your video of the cornfield just below also.

Good skies with really strong support from the ladder. The second shot would look good in black and white also.
ReplyDeleteVery fine.
Cool perspective and great photos! Thanks for visiting my blog :) ( I noticed that we are at the same age and I have a son who plays too, but soccer.)
ReplyDeleteReally interesting perspective, although quite common here in countryside:) Beautiful pics!

ReplyDeleteWonderful view! That is one huge silo.
