Out to Forage

Oct 26th. Now that harvest is finished, we turned the heifers out to forage for ears of corn left on the ground.  They seem to enjoy the extra food and freedom!

    I truly love your blog. It stirs my childhood memories of "getting the heifers in" each fall from pasture before winter. my brother sold the dairy herd several years ago - his wife told him if there was a milking cow left on the farm, she was leaving! their lives are much simpler and easier now. he raises beef and crops, that's it. your photos are reminiscent of joyful times for me, so thanks for that. happy weekend to you Jeanelle.

    First let me thank you for commenting on my blog, if for nothing else than I have found yours through it. I love this pic and from what I am seeing will love visiting.

    I do get behind...we go to visit my daughter and spend the night quite often or her and our grandbaby come here...and when she is here I don't get much done.
