This morning I spied this Common Buckeye butterfly. I ran back in the house to change camera lenses, hoping it would still be there when I returned. Fortunately, it was, and even sat still long enough for me to tiptoe close to get a photo.
I think buckeyes are such pretty butterflies; and they are some of the more cooperative ones.
