Horned Lark

I'm not much of a bird photographer, but did happen to get a zoomed shot of this one in the drive-way yesterday.

It was unfamiliar to me, so I attempted some detective work with the bird book.  My conclusion is that it might be an immature horned lark.

  1. Very cool indeed. I must get myself a bird book....I am at a loss for identifying most birds.

  3. Good for you catching a bird that is hard to capture!! I love to take pictures of the birds in our trees, but they are just the same ones everyone else gets pictures of. Nothing special...but I think they are cute, anyway!

  4. Brilliant capture, Val!

I've seen and captured some Horned Larks for the first time this snowy Spring.
