Last evening the sunset illuminated thunderheads in the distance.  The moon was in view, too, and I didn't have the heart to crop it out of the scene.

Saw a butterfly this morning, one I'd never seen before.  I snapped several shots, finally getting a clear one...

This photo was taken yesterday.  If it doesn't look quite realistic its because the colors and contrast were edited a bit.

This morning I googled my blog's name.  One of the links that came up was this one leading to a post I wrote way back in the summer of 2007.  It reminded me of the reason I had started blogging in the first place, to have an opportunity to do some writing.  Later on, I discovered the fun and ease of taking digital photos and putting them on the blog.  Obviously, that has taken over.  I guess it doesn't matter---one can put whatever they want on a blog.  Maybe someday I'll decide to write again.

Another chance to take drive-by photos happened the other day.  

I did some adjusting of the temperature, hue, and saturation 

of the colors in this first one...

Dramatic clouds were in view for awhile...

I had a chance to shoot some drive-by photos yesterday, mostly of random trees and farm fields.  To this one I added a chromatic effect, whatever that is, resulting in it looking like this which I rather liked...

Its always a hoot to see a cat who appears 

to be trying to hide behind blades of grass.

Once in a great while I manage to get a clear shot of a swallowtail butterfly and usually it is one that is missing part of its tail.

This morning I rode along with my husband to a farm machinery store.  Along the way I snapped drive-by shots of many patches of wild phlox.  Most of the photos were very blurry, but this one seemed good enough to put on the blog.

Just got back from a photo-hunting walk.  

The wild phlox are beginning to bloom.

Lately, I've been snapping many lilac photos.  On sunny days you get many shadows, of course.  I try not to look at them too long or I start seeing weird designs.  This photo I liked because it looks almost like the lilac branch was taken into a studio and placed in front of a light blue background.
