I enjoyed this picture of your cats! I grew up on a dairy farm in north central Iowa and we had something in the range of ... should I say this?! ... 45 cats!! AND every cat had a name! People were more amazed that we knew every cat by name than the fact we had so many!
I laughed at your post about your son going to the tournament. It brought back memories of when I was in his high school (long, long ago in a place far, far away!) and we traveled to Des Moines on the Thursday of the tournament.
We were all amazed that anybody could live in such a huge city. Our town had about 600 people in it and I never thought I could live in a community that large! Going to Clarion or Eagle Grove seemed like going to a really big town. When I went to NIACC in Mason City, I could not believe people lived in a town of 30,000!
The Little Panthers??!! My goodness. I did some of my student teaching there! I split my time between that school and Cedar Falls High - a completely different type of school than Northern Iowa. But the difference between Cedar Falls High and NIU high school was nothing compared to what it was like to go to Waterloo!! Now THAT was a different world - especially to a farm kid!

Wow, I'm impressed that all your many cats had names! We have maybe 2/3's of our cat population named. All the tame ones have names, of course, but not all of their wild cousins.
Have you ever been to NU's new fieldhouse?....I call it new, anyway. It has a gigantic panther mural.....which reminds me, I may have a photo saved of it from when my son had a game there.
Waterloo is not so bad really.....my mom grew up there and went to a grade school in which whites were a tiny minority. She has interesting stories to tell.....I've been trying to convince her to write them down.....

I saw my first robin today.
True he was frozen to death in a snow drift, but still...sign of spring, right?
Oh, no, tell me that's not true, that the robin was frozen in the snow! I am so looking forward to seeing a robin and the crocus buds. Soon, please!!
