This photo is being posted tonight as proof of these three facts:
1. The corn is growing!
*********
2. The fields are wet!

3. The sky was amazing this evening!
(Click on the picture to enlarge it, and then you'll see the rows of corn and the water in parts of the field.)

Oh my goodness...that's a beautiful sight!
I took a few pic's of our sky tonight also...a totally grey wall of water moving in on us. Our corn is not growing...it germinated and is now yellow. So we will keep waiting for the nice weather to arrive...and you just enjoy yours!
Hi, Judy!
Your area must be getting too much rain and cool weather. So sorry to hear about your corn. Hopefully, the weather pattern will soon change for the better.
There's much flooding in Iowa right now.....in many of the towns along rivers.
Yes, isn't it fun to take photos of lovely evening skies!
I saw the video of flooding in Iowa. What a weather season you all are having!
I didn't know about your mandatory dairy ad dollars. Now I will think of you every time I see one of those ads. Do you think they really make a difference?
caution,
Yes, it seems the weather has gone insane in many areas of the country. Soggy fields are minor compared to the many river towns filled with floodwater right now. The news reports are calling it the worst flooding EVER in many places. They interviewed an elderly lifelong Charles City resident who said he has NEVER seen the water so high there.
Incredible.....and more heavy rains forecast for later this week.
We had an incredible sky last night too. I wonder what the reason was.
Have I told you yet that I love cornfields? It's an intricate part of my mental map of home. I spent a summer on a college study program in England, and I missed the sight of cornfields so badly--even though I was raised in a city of 30,000. But it was surrounded by cornfields, and they are part of the landscape that makes me feel like I belong.
Ruth,
That's very interesting.....about your attachment to cornfields. Are all people that way? Attached to surroundings from childhood? I've never left my rural area for very long, so I wonder what I'd be homesick for.....probably cornfields, too, and maybe even cows (gag) and cow manure. Oh, my.....this is really giving me something to ponder.....!
