A Rakish Experience

My entire afternoon was spent with my good friend, John.........Deere Old John, that is, and our tryst was sanctioned completely by Husband!
**********
Due to John's
importance, he wears a nametag:

***********
***********
Deere John and I had a rakish time together! One of the dictionary definitions of rakish is: "suggesting dash and speed".........that perfectly describes our time together today! Raking hay requires dash and speed!

************

************

John is a guy of many parts.........complicated, yet simple in his own way:

************
************

Deere John and I were raking the hay into rows for the chopper to gobble up.........as it is pulled by Husband in his neon Allis-Chalmers tractor!

************

************

Here's how the rake does its job of bringing two hay winrows together to become one larger row:

************
************

I think the rake is cool.......almost artsy-looking:

*************

*************

After John and I were finished with our raking task, I went to check on my son who was unloading haylage into the bagger. He's received a phone call from HQ, receiving instructions for me.........HURRY UP AND PUT DEERE JOHN IN THE SHED FOR IT LOOKS LIKE RAIN.......DEERE JOHN WON'T START IF HE GETS RAINED ON!

*************

*************

And, yes........it rained.......heavily......and into the evening hours. I think sugarcreekfarm sent the storm our way!

Your JD looks about the same shape as my lawn mower.
I laughed as I read your post.
Why is it that you still have to rake and bake?
The other night my hubby said to me,
"This is about team work."
I looked at him and said, you have the team on the yard, but what team helps me cook for all these guys?
I think he got the message.

I used to think I would like to get to know John Deere a little better. Now I realize that he is way too complicated for a girl like me. More power to you, Jeannelle!

Hi, Marg!

I actually meant that I would be raking and baking (in the heat of the sun) out there in the field. Husband didn't get it either.....he thought I was planning to leave something baking in the oven!! He does always believe that food will magically appear even when I'm not in the kitchen. And, he rarely "gets" me, anyway......and I don't "get" him very often, either!

Hi, caution!

I'm sure you and Deere John would get along just fine after a quick lesson about what all the levers are for. You'd catch right on!
