In reality, I, Freckles the Cow, have just realized that Delilah may be trying to remind me to enlighten you about the faMOOus bovine habit of CHEWING THE CUD. Try to imagine.......you have chewed and swallowed your pepperoni pizza.......before long you belch up the tasty mass, chew and swallow it once more, then belch it up again for more chewing. For us cows, that is a continual routine (not with pepperoni pizza, of course, but with hay, silage and ground corn), giving our cow breath a uniquely dank quality which we enjoy sharing with any nearby human face via our blurpy, bubbly belches!
Often, we see our humans chewing and chewing while they're working in the barn.......it makes us cows wonder if they also regurgitate their food into a cud for chewing?? But, the humans are somehow able to blow theirs outward into a bubble shape at times.......we cows have never learned to do that.

(An update on Jeannelle......yeah, I know, like anyone cares.......I don't, particularly. Jeannelle is simply a streak right now........not Ray Stevens' type of "streak", of course, but a person hurriedly trying to get many things done. She streaks by the cowyard on her lawnMOOwer, then she streaks to town to pick up tuxes and groceries, she streaks to the reception hall to decorate, and to the rehearsal supper site to decorate and prepare food.......then she streaks home again and falls unconscious for the night. This streaking business is MOOch faster-paced than Jeannelle's usual speed of lazy trudging about the farm, so by MOOnday, I predict she'll be collapsed in a heap. Ho-hum......so it goes. I, Freckles the Cow, will busy myself with making milk, while standing still and chewing my cud. Yes, I'm coordinated enough to be able to chew my cud and stand still at the same time.......its a gift!!)

Freckles, I'm very concerned that you don't realize you are appealing just the way you are. Perhaps you need a cow-nseling session.
I do wish you hadn't reminded me of that song, though. Not a big Tom Jones fan hear, and now that song is running through my head.
Freckles, you have told me more about both cud and muu-muus than I could ever possibly want to know. Thanks!
Here are the words to "Delilah." Now try to get Tom Jones's voice (and swaying hips and thrusting pelvic region) out of your head:
I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window,
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind.
She was my woman;
As she deceived me I watched and went out of my mind.
My, my, my, Delilah!
Why, why, why, Delilah?
I could see that girl was no good for me,
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free.
At the break of day, when that man drove away, I was waiting.
I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door.
She stood there laughing;
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more.
My, my, my Delilah!
Why, why, why, Deliliah?
So before they come to break down the door,
Forgive me, Deliliah, I just couldn't take any more.
[insert trumpet solo here]
[repeat from "She stood there laughing."]
[End of song]
Sort of a latter-day "Frankie and Johnny" or "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" scenario, I would say.
And speaking of Tom Jones, glad to be of service.
Did you know his son is 15 years his junior?
mooving post here freckles I am simply falling in love with you...
grins peach
Poor Jeannelle. I remember those days of streaking for a wedding. Sounds kind of provocative doesn't it? I remember the moo moo generation of old ladies. My daughter's mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law wear them to this day! I actually used to enjoy the lazy look of our milk cows chewing their cud but the smell of those belches was rather gross. Freckles, you are doooing a mooovalous job in Jeanelle's absence. Tom Jones and Dellilah, not so much...not a big fan.
Freckles, I think all this is going to your head! The cud thing? yuck. The Tom Jones thing? Yuck. But your literary adroitness is quite stunning girlie. But we do want Jeannelle back, so don't get too comfortable at that keyboard.
I have enjoyed reading all of Freckles posts this week.......she is one talented Mooo-Cow. Please tell her that she does not need a moomoo to hide her freckles.....she is beautiful just the way she is....=)
Thank you for visiting my blog earlier in the week and leaving all of the really nice comments and encouragement. I hope you come back and visit again.
The ladybugs are not considered pests in our area. They are considered beneficials and do their job by eating the aphids in the alfalfa fields.
Wishing you Beautiful Days and Happy Memories for your sons wedding.........
Good Lord - does anyone remember the Tom Jones show? My cousin and her friends HAD to watch that program and slobber.
