Oh, I know its Friday, the day for SkyWatch........but, floral is my mood instead.
*
The other morning I stepped outdoors to be greeted cheerily by this early-morning-sunlit begonia, in its old teakettle abode.
Around the corner from the door is a rock garden.......a good place to display "pretty" rocks we find here on the farm. The mums are blooming nicely next to this smooth hunk of chert I picked up out in the field a few years ago.
An especially colorful mum with a daisy-like demeanor:

And, last but not least........the volunteer pumpkin growing amongst the rocks and flowers. Its a little bit bashful----can you tell?!
Have a bloomin' wonderful Friday!!

Very cheerful, Jeannelle! Love your pictures. And your demeanor!!
Ah....and you have a wonderful Friday. For us up north, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. And there really is so much to be thankful for. I love your photos by the way. And your musings today are so wonderfully put! Thanks for being refreshingly honest and your willingness to express your thots.
good morning, country girl!
Thanks for dropping by, and yes, its better to think about flowers....or sky.....something beautifully neutral.

trish,
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. And for mentioning that this is Canada's Thanksgiving weekend. Many blessings to all you folks up there!! The U.S. is blessed to have you for a next-door neighbor!
I just love the colors of this post. You surely are taking some beautiful pix these days.
I skimmed the article you sent. To be honest, my brain is a weakling, Jeanelle!
caution,
Thanks for the words about the photos!
But, c'mon......the article is not THAT deep.....its just long. Get informed.

Lovely spots of colorful cheer! Nice!

You do have great color in your pictures and your mums look great too. I have a few, but they didn't winter over to well, so they are a little sparse this year. I wish I had a place to grow some of my own pumpkins. I like those little ones, they are so cute to decorate with.
Hi, Laura, Pat, Nancy!
Thanks for stopping by! These mums were planted this spring, so time will tell if they survive this upcoming winter. What is the secret? Do I need to cover them with mulch?
Love all of the vingettes you presented to us today. thanks so much for the lovely images!!!
I tried to post a comment on your post today - Saturday - but got a message that comments were not being accepted, so I will post my thoughts here.
I really like the images on your Friday post! Very nice!
I liked your comments on this morning's post, too. I agree with you that the election process gets pretty frustrating now - McCain is really getting dirty I think with his new ads about Obama. He sounds desperate, which he is I think.
I was a bit disappointed you listed "no divorce" in your list of, well, undesirable qualities in a candidate... I was divorced this past year after over 20 years of marriage. It was not my idea or choice. But as you may know it takes two to marriage but only one to divorce.
I do not like the apparent stigma attached by so many people to divorce, but I have learned these past three years it does exist - as evidenced by your comment today. Oh well...
I enjoy your blog very much but was saddened to feel a bit classified as a social undesirable.
Russell,
Thank you for your comment. The truth is I do not consider anyone in that listing as socially undesirable.....divorced people, pregnant teenagers, Black Liberation adherents, End-Times adherents, Mr. Ayers, Rev. Wright, Rev. Muthee, or anyone involved in Troopergate. No....that's not what I meant, so I'm sorry it appeared to you that way.
What I'm longing for are candidates with nothing in their background that can be dragged out and used in mud-slinging. Some people do sling the divorce issue as mud......less often than the other issues so you are right, I probably should not have included it in the list.
I hope you can accept my apology.
Beautiful flower shots and I love that little orange pumpkin......
I love the corn field photos.......the angle of the first is awesome.....=)
Love your post this morning......I too do not hear many discussing the issues at hand out in public...I think those discussions go on behind closed doors....I have heard people say they are not worried about the economic crisis and that floors me........how can they not be worried??? Oh, I could get started, then not stop.....so I had better just say this.......Thank you for your posts and for saying what most are not brave enough to even admitt to thinking............Hugs to you.
I love these photos. Thank you for the beauty.
