As this full moon was setting in the west early yesterday morning, my daughter was coughing and crying.......and, I was beside myself, half-wishing she would just suddenly spit out the entire offending mass of tonsil. She was miserable all night long and we were almost to the point of running her to the ER, but then she started hacking and gagging up a bunch of icky junk......from the tonsil, we think.......and then she felt better, and could suddenly swallow and talk easier. I took her to UrgentCare in Waterloo as soon as I was done with morning chores---they retested for strep and mono and did a CT scan to rule out an abscess in the neck behind the tonsil. Acky.....aren't you glad to hear all of this? It's T.M.I.---Too Much Information---I know! Seriously, she's feeling better now and is back to her good-humored self......able to eat and sleep again after several days of hardly being able to do either, the poor kid. Plus, putting up with her mother constantly urging her to "drink, drink, drink". Once she's back in good health, we'll see about getting her tonsils removed. She's had huge tonsils since she was born, but they never caused a problem until now.
After all that commotion, I went on a pre-arranged road trip yesterday afternoon......to another state, in fact. Along the way, I saw this:
And, this:
My destination was the city which is home to a world-famous facility (though, truthfully, I would not wish for a reason to go there):

I have no clue where this is. It is not Minnesota. Missouri?
Hope your daughter is feeling better.
I also suffered from that around her age. Never did have the tonsils removed though.
I have no idea but it is beautiful anyway!
I found two hints: a city with a facility you would not wish for a reason to go to, and you drove through Lime Springs, which Google Maps told me is north of Waverly near the Minnesota border. So I'm guessing Rochester, Minnesota. I certainly wouldn't wish for a reason to go to the Mayo Clinic there.
I'm glad your daughter is feeling better, too.
I think you went to Rochester, MN, home of the Mayo Clinic. You'd normally pass through Lime Springs, which is on the MN border. That's what gave me the hint. I first thought about Minneapolic and the Mall of America. I wouldn't want to have to to there, either. :)
