[First of all......an apology: I forgot to stretch the photos to a bigger size before transferring the post from Live Writer to Blogger. You may have to squint to see them. Sorry.]
The weather is improving by leaps and bounds, warming to a spring-like feel. Yesterday morning my husband informed me that he’d heard a robin chirping, so a-searching I went, but never found the robin.
The chickens were prancing about, though. Though its most surely insensitive of me, I enjoy stalking the chickens with the camera in hopes of catching them in some goofy fowl moves. I know, I know……how would I like it if someone tried to take pictures of me doing stupid things. (And, I engage in plenty of those.) Perhaps I should be charged with a foul for taking fowl shots!
I’ve taken a stab at adding captions to the photos below. You may come up with something different……let me know in a comment. The more, the merrier!
*
“A push-me-pull-me......poultry style…..”
********
“Turn around, Stanley! Let’s face it……we BOTH need underwire support. Henrietta’s Secret is having a clearance sale……let’s go!”
*******
“Pardon me......the ol' wingpits need an airing-out. Forgot to apply my anti-perspirant this morning.”
*******
[I’m no good at coming up with political captions, but this final photo could accomodate one, perhaps. The calf on the left is “Unity” and the one on the right is “Reagan” (named after Husband's niece).]
(Notice the aqua-colored cast on the rooster’s tail feathers. That color brings my antique fruit jar collection to mind.)

Have a pleasant day!

Jeannelle! That first photo is a beauty. You know you can go back into LiveWriter and 'fix' anything you want, right?
Thanks, too, for the advice you gave me on LiveWriter. I downloaded the update and it's so much better.
Oh, my gosh, this last photo is just funny!!!! But that first one . . . very artsy.
Wonderful shots!
I have downloaded LiveWriter but have not played with it yet.
Thanks!
Proposed caption for the last pic:
"Okay, then, it's agreed. Unity, the next time she walks behind you, you sneeze and poop at the same time."
haha Sempringham!
Jeannelle: Wonderful pictures! I have been pestering my Mayor to let me have chickens in my back yard but so far, no go.
there's something about chickens that I find beautiful. perhaps it is their colors or the way they walk and freeze and then walk again. I remember watching the roosters of Kaui as I sat and just was mesmerized by them. I'll have to find those photos...and post them for you to see.
Hi, Country Girl,
Thank you for the Live Writer tip....no I didn't know that. I'll have to go back in and do some investigating. Glad to hear you found the update!

Hi, Gail,
You should get right busy and try the Live Writer. It is quite easy to use and a fun way to put photos in blogpost.

Hi, Sempringham,
Boy, for a city guy, you are really tuned in to bovine behavior. Not many people would be able to visualize the scenario you suggested. As long as the "she" isn't me, I guess its an OK caption.

Hi, troutay,
Don't some towns allow residents to have two chickens? I think one of my blogger friends who lives in Minnesota has mentioned that.

Hi, Deb,
Now that you mention it, that is what chickens do, walk and then freeze for a couple seconds to assess what's going on around them. They are hilarious to watch....so prancy and pompous.
Jeannelle,
Everything I know about bovine behavior, I learned right here.
Sempringham,
Yeah, I sort of figured that.
Jeanelle - Great shots! For that third one I was thinking Steve Miller. "I want to fly like an eagle, 'til I'm free!"
I just clicked on them and looked at the big pictures. Really good, colourful shots.
Kat
I love that first photograph too.
I haven't seen a robin yet, but I heard and saw a red-winged blackbird this morning. Chireeeee!
Hi, Poetikat,
Hey, that's a good idea, the "Fly Like an Eagle" song....I always liked that one. Actually, these chickens are all free ranging....they are free to leave the farm if they want, but they never do. Go figure.

Hi, Ruth,
Great news that you have redwings in your area....hopefully, they will be here, soon. I just love their little trill, and seeing them on every fencepost along the road.
Well it has only taken me a week to get around to reading blogs. What a crazy week I had last week! I've been reading and catching up, but can't leave comments on them all...so I wanted to tell you that I love the photos of your chickens and the captions are great...=)
And hearing a Robin, I'm jealous! We had snow again here over the weekend and early this week! I'm so tired of snow.....a nice rain would be welcome, but the snow can go away. So I like to say what we are having now is Sprinter...a mix of spring and winter.
Hi, Deserthen,
Thank you for taking time to visit when you're so busy!
Hopefully, your snow will soon be gone for good. Today was windy and very cold here, but no new snow.
I really like your clever combo word: "sprinter"! I'm going to tell my son....he started track practice recently....I can tell him he's "sprinting in sprinter"!
