SkyWatch #52

July7th036 Welcome to northeast Iowa, USA! Earlier this week, a line of storm clouds rolled in from the west during the morning hours. The situation looked ominous……we prepared mentally and otherwise for the possibility of trouble.

July7th034 Remember those theorems and postulates from back in high school geometry class? The if’s and then’s. IF you’re alive, THEN possibility of a storm rolling into your life is always present. You must hunker down and hope to ride it out. Put your faith where your fears are.

July7th030

I hope you safely ride out the storms in your life!

I know storms can be very dangerous but they are so beautiful and fascinating to me. These pictures are awesome.

Midwest skies can just be so ominous. I say run for the basement and do a tuck and cover. OR, run for your life!

I always look in wonder at the photos of your Iowa skies but I have to say those clouds do look threatening. And as for the whiny blogger - it's your blog and if you want to whine, go for it - however I don't see it as whining, just stating how you see things on that particular day!! The flowers are lovely, Queen Anne Lace is something we have here but not Loosestrife. There a connection between those posts when you read them at one time, those clouds could be full of loose strife...
Long comment today Janelle but I haven't visited for a day or so and am covering all posts in one hit.

Oh my word. Those are some incredible sky shots. I know y'all have had some pretty bad storm destruction in the past, but that's some gorgeous sky.

Lovely metaphor and clouds to go with it!

These shots are a bit scary. That trailing tail gave me goose bumps! Stay safe!

Thank you all for visiting this post and for your kind comments. I omitted that the storm didn't amount to much of anything, really. It looked worse than it was!

Some nasty looking clouds you photographed Jeannelle. The weather this week has been freaky here in Iowa. One day they were forecasting Sunny and 90 degrees, and it was raining and in the 60s. I don't know where the weatherman was getting our weather report from, but it wasn't the weather I was having here in my little corner of Iowa.

The last photo looks so amazing. Great shots.

Besides ominous, the clouds look majestic. One of the things you give up, living in a city, is being able to see what's going on around you. Clouds very similar to these could be forming to my west right now. But I wouldn't know it until they were right on top of me. Beautiful shots, Jeannelle.

Wow - those clouds certainly look threatening! I hope everything turned out okay and you just got a nice shower of rain from them!

The storm clouds are so beautiful!!! Whatever does not break you makes you strong, without the tough times we would not enjoy the easy ones.
