Sunflower Butterflies

IMG_5914

Finally, around mid-morning today the clouds moved offstage to make way for sunshine!  I headed out for a walk to take advantage of the golden rays.  Found some gold, too…..prairie sunflower gold, topped by butterflies!  What could be better?!

IMG_5916 I think this flower is a Prairie Sunflower, though am not sure.  It also seems to fit the description of something called “Rosin Weed”.

Hope you’re having a great afternoon!

This is SO pretty! And you caught to different butterflies on film - that's neat. Dairymary

Hi Jeannelle,

I hope all is well in your little corner of the world. I haven't been by in a while, I have been slowing down with my blogging and commenting, and surprised myself with all the things I did in the last two weeks.

I love the pictures today, since butterflies are among some of my favorite things. How great for you that you were at the right place at the right time, to get such great shots of the butterflies.

Hello Jeannelle,

Love the butterfly and flower photos! Great captures. I also like the flower photos in your sidebar....very colorful!

Hope your summer has been a good one? I just can't believe how fast it has gone!! I guess that's what happens when one goes back to work full time! Ack!! We just finished third cutting and are now hoping the weather stays warm enough for a good fourth crop to grow. My daughter competed in her first open youth dairy show. She showed a dairy goat for the first time. Maybe next year she will work her way up to a dairy cow! =) Take care and have a great weekend...=)

Hugs, Deserthen

Nice shot of this pearl crescent and cabbage white butterfly. It is kind of rare to see two different species sharing the same flower. Usually one will chase the other off.
