Field Update

Remember that nice green rye field?  It was cut and chopped and is now covered in cow manure and waiting to be plowed up and planted in soybeans:
May 8 (11) The next photo shows how one of our cornfields looked a couple days ago.  Cloud shadows and sunshine were playing hopscotch across the landscape.  The grassy strip is a waterway which prevents gullies from forming when it rains:

Looks like a good planting. I wish you rain and sunshine at all the right times.

THese pictures could well have been taken in my part of the world, except that the corn is not yet up. Farmers are busy at this time of year.

Yep girl, one more evenin' of plantin' and we'll have our soybeans in too. We were aimin' to get 'em in before the tenth but as all farmers know...stuff happens!!!

God bless ya sweetie and have yourself a magnificent day!!!

"Cloud shadows and sunshine were playing hopscotch across the landscape." What beautiful words and description!

I always wondered why there were patches of grass in the middle of farmer's fields. Thanks for clearing that up!
