Goose Family

Yesterday I was on farmwife go-fer duty when I spied this Canada goose family waddling across a cornfield.  There wasn’t much traffic on the road so I pulled over and snapped a few shots.

May 18 (2)I also took pictures of some old barns for Barn Charm.  I’m always happy when my husband asks me to run an errand for him.  I love little road trips.  He, meanwhile, was busy baling round hay bales.

Our weather is unseasonably warm and dry right now.  Perfect for baling hay, but a critical need for rain is quickly developing.  The newly-planted fields of corn and soybeans need moisture!

I think the Canada geese living in my Back Forty were scared off by all the activity of fence building. Darn. Love the sight of hay bales. I do hope we get some rain soon. :-)

The goose family looks good. I guess in a farmers life it is always busy.We need rain too and are getting some today.

I love your Canada geese family. Our May here in Maryland has been absolutely lovely and pleasant. So far, we've had more rain than April but we really needed it badly. Haven't had to use the AC units yet and hoping I'm not jinxing it by saying that ~ Enjoy your weekend!
