New Butterfly

A couple days ago on my way to the clothesline I noticed some butterflies fluttering around.  One of them stayed sitting on the ground long enough for me to sneak up close and get a few shots.

May 7 (7)

It was not a butterfly I recognized so I looked it up online.

May 7 (10) It is called a Mourning Cloak.

Oh, Jeannelle....how beautiful. They are so numerous, we could spend a lifetime studying butterflies.

How cool is that?! I didn't know this blog was up and running. I must make sure to add you to the homescreen on my iPod, since I spend most of my time on it. Don't want to miss your stuff, Jeanne.

Great capture!
The first time I saw one of these it was all closed up and I thought a piece of wood was on the side of my house until I went to flick it off and the butterfly flew away. :)
