Yesterday afternoon I left home with flowers to put on relatives’ graves and returned with wildflower photos.
Here’s a wild rose, state flower of Iowa:
An anemone:
According to the wildflower book, these next blossoms belong to a wild radish:
They were growing in a patch of wild yellow iris:
Here’s a flowering tree of some sort:
I think this next one is common fleabane, due to the pinkish petals:
And, lastly, here’s a glimpse of prairie phlox and other assorted roadside plants:

I too am amazed at all the flowering plants right now. I also agree that we need rain and soon. I have seen the switch over already in one week from my lawn. Last week the ground was still soft. Yesterday there are hard sections in the lawn and the grass is not growing as fast. We shall see.
You've really captured some of the beauty of the state!
