Travel Shows

This morning I’m sitting here in the screened porch listening to the birds and trying to catch up with the many blogs I read via my Google Reader.  Slow down, I can’t keep up!  The noise of tractors serenades me, too, as my husband and son are hauling cow manure out onto the newly-baled field and getting ready to make big round bales in another hayfield.

In the previous post, I mentioned watching travel shows on PBS.  Iowa Public Television provides three channels---one for regular PBS programming, plus one called Create which features mostly cooking and travel shows, and another called World which has documentaries, news and talk shows.

Here are the various travel shows that are on on weekday afternoons and sometimes late evenings, and weekend mornings and evenings.  Not all the shows run all the time.

Some of those sound really interesting. Art Wolfe is an amazing photographer so that would be a good one for me.

porch sitting in Iowa...while on a dairy farm???
oh my..it DOES sound like heaven to me. I don't know how in the world I ended up in southern california surrounded by concrete but I'm sure I should have been dropped on a country road somewhere to live and marry a farmer...oh well, post some pics and I'll pretend.

I watch some of those too.. my fav is Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge. He is a Seattle Photographer, actually lives about three miles from me as the crow flies. I stop into his gallery often to look at this work... he autographed a book for me a few months back...
