Wildflowers

I’ve been keeping my eye on a nearby road ditch that is home to many wildflowers.  Yesterday morning I drove over there to check on things.  Here’s what’s currently on display there…

Coneflower:

July 2 (7)

Prairie Blazing Star:

July 2 (15)

Thimbleweed:

July 2 (16) Virginia Mountain Mint:

July 2 (4)

Wild Bergamot/Monarda/Bee Balm:

 July 2 (2)

Prairie Sage/Mugwort:

July 2 (29) The plants in the last three photos are very aromatic.  They smell wonderful!

Isn't it amazing to find all this beauty in a roadside ditch? I love to see the roadsides glowing with the colours of wildflowers.
