My faithful Canon Powershot camera is getting old. This photo from last evening came complete with a grainy texture. Partly, it might be because I had the lens zoomed out all the way, but the unzoomed photos I took were fuzzy, too, and they shouldn’t be. Maybe this look could be marketed as the “worn-out camera app”. (For anyone who doesn’t know, “app” is short for application---a texture or look that is added to a photo. I often see “app” mentioned in connection with photos taken with cell phones.) I really like the camera, though, so I’ll just keep using it until it goes completely kaput.
There was a storm passing by in the distance when I took this. The sun had made a brief appearance before disappearing below the horizon, making the corn tassels glow even more golden!

We had about an inch of rain last evening. The clouds were remarkable, and dummy me didn't take a picture of them. How is your corn crop this year, considering the drought we're having this summer?
I like the lines in the field and the colour of the light is delightful.
How sad your beloved camera is getting old! If you hadn't said anything, I would have thought you created the grain on purpose, a clever use of a grainy photo of the grain corn. :)
Gigi Ann, our corn look pretty good, but the ears are small. We will start chopping it for silage next week.
Yes I agree with you but this shot is artesy too - like impressionism.
I use the same camera I love mine I hope it works longer for you. I have been looking at your photos and it is an amazing little camera and you have a good eye. B
