Here's a drive-by shot from last summer. The piece of equipment coming out of the barn is part of the barn cleaner. Gutters behind the cows catch the manure and then I presume it is pushed by paddles into the auger which you see there (that is how our barn cleaner works). A manure spreader can be parked underneath to catch the manure which would then be hauled to the field for fertilizer.

Great looking old barn. I love the foundation.
Yes, I remember the barn cleaner in my Dad's barn and when it would get really cold it would freeze solid. : )
Beautiful old barn! Bet it could tell a good story or two if it could talk!
Lovely! It looks a little bit tipsy though, with the cupola leaning and the whole barn a little the worse for wear. But who could blame it for a little tipple after working so hard!
Thanks for the info on the barn cleaner. Great barn!
I have always wanted to remodel a barn into a house.
Wonder if this method would work with house work??
I had no idea there was such a thing as a barn cleaner. Neat shot!
Great drive by shot!! Stoppin by from Barn Charm www.prairiegirl4-thatcountryplace.blogspot.com
I was going to say that the barn in the photo is very familiar to me - because it's in NE Iowa and I'm in NW Wisconsin - almost neighbors. :-)
Pretty barn! I really like the foundation.
nice colors, red, black and yellow. Makes for a pretty, old barn.
That barn is a real beauty! Twyla
Love the foundation on that barn!
I like the stone foundation. Thanks for the lesson on barn cleaners!
This is one big barn! I always love to have a barn and this is exactly the structure I wanted, from foundation up to its roof. I've seen so many barns that were already abandon and it's good to see one that it's still in use. Maybe a little paint and repair the windows will definitely make this better as it was new.
