Today was the day!!
Miss Kitty tried her best to get outside early this morning, but I wouldn't let her go. Then a few hours later, while I was busy in the midst of getting lunch ready, out of the corner of my eye I saw her sneak upstairs to the bedrooms......a place she normally never goes. I was going to go get her right then, but got distracted when my son and his fiancee came in and we started chatting.After lunch, while loading the dishwasher, I suddenly remembered about Miss Kitty going upstairs. My son and I raced up there and searched all over for her. Finally, we found her, way in a corner under my daughter's bed.......and she had already given birth! Fortunately on a blanket, which absorbed her waters.

This evening they all rest comfortably in the basement, where they belong.

Ah! And I thought it would be five. Four is better and they all look healthy. Now we get to see kitten pics in the future!
Yes, there's four good-sized babies....and I'm really glad about that. Last summer, Miss Kitty had a litter of five, and one of them didn't make it. Four kitties fit just right on a mama.
