St. Luke Window

Here's St. Luke's window, which stands sentinel over the sanctuary of the LCMS Lutheran church I attend:

If anyone read this post early Sunday morning......accept my apology for mispelling "bestow" as "bestoy"!

Beautiful window! I enjoyed the link to the article about the symbolism. I never knew this!! Of course, there are many things I don't know!!

Take care and thanks for this interesting post!

Jeannelle, three down and one to go! These have proven to be very interesting and enlightening windows!

I love the beautiful colors at the top of this window.

I confess I couldn't read the excerpt. I've been doing heavy-duty research for a week and a half, and when I saw the heavy block of text, my eyes protested. Maybe I'll come back later.

Hi to the three r's! Russell, rhymewithplague, and ruth!!

Its been fun for me to learn about the symbolism of these windows, too, for I certainly had never heard of this tradition before. And, no pastor or anyone else ever mentions it.

But, alas, there is only one more window, and I'm in a panic to try and figure out what to do next for Sunday posts. Will I have to start sneaking into other churches to photograph more windows? Who knows.....stay tuned.
