"Matchmaker, matchmaker.....
Make me a match.....
Find me a find.....
Catch me a catch!"
(from Fiddler on the Roof, of course)
You may not know this, but deep within me, there is a matchmaker constantly trying to rear its busybody head. I just want everyone to be happy. Concerning this subject, Husband crows to me, "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!"
**********
My son's wedding dance is coming up, and as I contemplate the happy, festive event, faces of my single girlfriends float by, mingled with faces of single guys who reside in my community. What can I do? Sneak around and somehow try to manuever them into the same vicinity at the dance? And, without them realizing I had a hand in it, of course. What would you do? You can't just come right out and say, "I think you two should get acquainted......"; its a tricky situation, with skittishness abounding. Husband----bless him----is probably right......I SHOULD MIND MY OWN BUSINESS!
But, just look at this affectionate........though, seemingly rather mismatched couple here in the photos.........who woulda thunk it? That they'd make a couple?! You just never know, do you. In every potential romantic situation, something more odd and strange has already taken place! "Stranger things have happened" is all I'm trying to say!

What I'm hoping is that maybe some of you readers can offer caption ideas for these photos. What do you think is being discussed by the calf and the rooster? (The calf being a female, by the way.) My mind's a blank in this muggy weather!

C'mon.......pull on your creative-caption thinking-caps!! And, even if you don't offer a caption suggestion.......HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Hey, I just saw Fiddler on the Roof last night at the outdoor theater. Love that show.
I'm horrible at captions though...
Okay, third time to post this:
"Hey, calfy, better run, she's heading this way, and that's an AXE in her hand."
Okay, I am not good at captions.
I don't know why I have such a terrible time getting a comment down here. sigh...
The rooster is saying, "come let me whisper sweet nothings in your ear, my dear."
Or how about "I'll give you something to crow about!"
Hi, Kacey!
Good for you! I love Fiddler on the Roof! Thanks for stopping in!

Sherry,
Sorry about comment difficulties.....I clicked in the settings to remove the wavy letter thing.....hopefully, that is gone now. I thought that might help, but maybe not.
Cute caption......I never carry axes, though!

Hi, Rose!
Thanks for stopping by! You have a lovely blog!
Cute captions!! Yes, that second one sounds definitely like something rooster would say!
I LOVE the picture. When I was a little girl - not so long ago by the way - I hatched a game rooster, a silky and a duck at the same time in my incubator. Well, the duck egg took a bit longer. Fred was crippled with one twisted leg (the duck). I raised them together and they were inseparable in the yard to the point that when my brother's dog took a notion to eat the duck, the rooster flailed her mercilessly!
I have always kept goats with my orphaned foals and they bond quite wonderfully as do pot bellied pigs. Then again pigs bond with just about anything. Oh the stories of true love on the farm.
The first photo looks like the rooster is saying "To the moon, Alice. To the moon". Remember the Honeymooners? Cute photos.
Yeah I hear you on the matchmaking urge. My husband says the same thing as yours.
Hi, saddlegait!
Sounds like you've had some interesting experiences with "odd" couples on your farm! It is amazing to see various animals become sort of bonded.

Hi, egghead!
Yes, I remember the Honeymooners.....that's a good caption idea!
Thanks for stopping by!
I tried, but I couldn't think of anything. Just wanted you to know I stopped by.
Hi, Ruth!
Thanks for checking in! I'm sorry to say I had a DQ Moo-latte today.....I thought of your post from the other day as I enjoyed the treat that I should really have foregone. Take care.
Hi Jeanelle!
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! Thanks for commneting on my blog :-)
I have a friend that has matched up a few couples in her life time. Sometimes it's hard for people to meet, that is why so amny young people are using Match.com etc. Why not take a chance and introduce those singles? :-)
I just love all yopur kitties! Tux must be getting big.
