Wedding Essentials

There's not time to say much, except that here are some essentials for a successful wedding:
***
***
A ribbon-lined aisle leading to the altar:
***
***
Lovely flower bouquets in the wedding colors and.......wedding rings resting on a pillow, most definitely (let the rings sleep until needed).

***
***

Shiny, spiffed-up dress shoes for the guys:***
***

A gorgeous wedding dress and veil for the bride:

***
***
Slim young things with slim young arms to carry beautiful flower bouquets:

Last, but not least........an appropriately-colored and exciting conveyance for the mother-of-the-groom! Hey, why not a Harley? Have I ever ridden one? NO. Would I like to ride one? Yes. This one belongs to Husband's brother, and was parked at our farm last weekend. Once again, I blew a chance to do something fun, as I could easily have asked my brother-in-law for a ride........but did I do such a thing? NO!

Actually, the only time I rode on a motorcycle (it wasn't a Harley) was one evening back when I was in high school: Husband's (he wasn't my husband yet, though) brother took me home from babysitting his little boy. Yes, I rode with the self-same owner of this Harley in the photo..........only a few miles, but it was a thrill! Somewhere deep in my psyche exists a desire to roar off on a motorcycle toward the western horizon some evening and crash into a fiery, orange sunset. What do you say........would you care to join me?

Today will be too busy.......there's hay to bale and a daughter and her mountain of STUFF to move back to college. That means two trips to Cedar Falls for me in the morning, and helping lug all that STUFF up four flights of stairs to the dorm room. I feel exhausted already. My daughter's roommate's family is supposed to be there to help, plus the roommate's cousin. The roommate says her cousin thinks my daughter is cute and he broke up with his girlfriend after he met my daughter at a county fair a few weeks ago. Hm-m........I think I'll make like a nosy mother and get a look at this guy.

Then, in the afternoon, if the weather holds, I'll go round and round in circles in the hayfield, driving the baler.

Onward to the day we march!

Oh my, what a busy day. I love the idea of you just driving in circles at the end of it. What a metaphor for having too much to do.

Thanks for the peek at the wedding.

I might be a bit envious of having to drive in circles! It sounds kind of soothing. Yes, get a good look at that cousin. This could be something fun to watch. As for the motorcycle? No thanks. When we were dating, my husband took me out on his bike. 80 miles an hour we went down the highway. I am STILL terrified when I think about that.

I'd rather drive a baler than a motorcycle, thanks! Been there, done that, for all of about 40 feet! (There's a 'remembrance' story in that episode...one of these days.) My son and his wife both have Harley's which they drive to work when the weather cooperates.

I'm going around in circles, too, but won't have any neat hay bales to show for it. Don't work too hard!

Thanks for sharing glimpses into the wedding.

I think I'd opt for the baler rather than the motorcycle. Hubby used to be a harley guy years ago, thankfully before we met. I scart of them things. Thanks for the pics Jeannelle, and geesh girl, take a rest!

I don't know Jeanelle. After moving your daughter will you be able to go around in circles without falling asleep? I am usually going in circles without doing it on purpose.

Hi, Ruth, Caution, Pat, Sherry, Egghead!

Thanks for stopping in!

"Did I go 'round in circles....
Did I fly high like a bird up in the sky?" (Anybody remember that song?)

There was a misty rain all day, so the going around in circles in the field never materialized.

Caution.....I may wish for a motorcycle ride, but not at 80 mph! Oh, my.....and you still married that guy??

Note to Jeannelle:
Next time you get the urge to take a ride on a motorcycle, act on it!

And let us know how it went!

Oh, and PS ~ When I was reading all these posts, I noticed that the pictures were nicer than usual. I love the one of the dress, Jeannelle. It wasn't until I got further down and read that you bought a new camera that I realized why! Just wanted to tell you. I like the men's shoes lined up, too.
