Its a truly pathetic habit, but I sometimes buy humorous cards and stash them in a box.......not to send to anyone, but just to keep around to provide laughs to me, myself, and I, or maybe an occasional household member, if I feel like sharing the funnies.

The inside of the Valentine card pictured above says, "The Attraction Was Mootual." I love it......it may describe my life to a tee (except the part about her being a "classic beauty", of course). I certainly don't think of myself that way.......but, none of us do, do we? Supposedly, its a fact that the majority of women see themselves as far less attractive and intelligent than they really are.......while a man will tend to believe himself to be the smartest, most attractive person in the room. Don't throw pies at me......I heard this info on a recent John Tesh radio show, though am not 100 percent certain about that.......I did hear it somewhere, though. Its all just human nature.

My supposed Valentine and my son are hauling manure today. I fixed them a nice lunch of raspberry pancakes and cheesy scrambled eggs......I thought it was nice, anyway. A few minutes ago I went back into the kitchen to get drink of water. When I turned the handle on the faucet, the sprayer nozzle drenched me with water. What the heck? Peering closer at the nozzle, I could see that a rubberband had been wrapped around it to hold the handle down. Good grief. My son had disappeared to the basement to put his chore coat on so I hollered down and asked about the suspiciously-placed rubberband. He just chuckled and said, "Happy Valentine's Day". What! I know for a fact that he bought chocolates and a stuffed animal for his girlfriend for Valentine's Day......but, all I get from him is a practical joke. I, who was kind enough to give birth to him. Hummph! Teenaged guys......who can fathom such creatures?

And, you wonder why I'm not into mushy.......there is no such thing around here. I hope YOUR Valentine's Day is going much more romantically.

Oh, but he can't be mushy with his mom. That would set him three stages back on his journey to manhood. LOL
I think your lunch sounds great.
Happy Valentine's Day.
Ah I had a very romantic day!
Staying in a hotel in a small town where the heat was blazing! And then this morning my husband brought me continental breakfast in bed! It was lovely. The coffee was like tea, the donuts were packaged and the banana was a tad too new! He is just sooo good to me.
You have truly made me belly laugh...slim calves!! You made my day.
Hi, Ruth,
You're so right. Truly, I didn't expect him to think of me at all on Valentine's Day....I should appreciate him even thinking to play a joke on me!
Happy Valentine's to you!

Your husband deserves a big E for effort, bless him. Happy Valentine's!
Hi, Gail,
Whoever created that card is the one to thank for the laughs. Yeah, that is a good one...."slim calves".....
Valentines Day here has not been real romantic, but I did get a "Happy Valentines" first thing this am!! And I served a nice supper, soup and herbed biscuits and assorted squares, which husband and son appreciated. That last is the key word, from son! Dairymary
Hi, dairymary,
Mmm.....your supper sounds wonderful. And, wow.....did your son actually say he appreciated the meal. Good for him!
