Its Daffy Here, Too

Daffy down dilly has come up to town

In a yellow petticoat and a green gown.....

Many blogs have been featuring bright, beautiful daffodils lately, so I'm bein' a copycat for sure. But, who can resist these cheerful ensigns of spring!

Its as if a rollicking trumpet blast could sound forth from them at any moment!

That's "ENJOY YOUR DAY!" in daffodil-speak!

Daffodils are almost done blooming here in Roanoke, but they started much earlier than yours... Returned from CF yesterday.... rainy rainy in your world while I was there, BUT returned home to rain as well.

Hi, Blue Ridge Gal,

Glad to hear you had a safe journey to and from Iowa. Too bad it was cold and rainy here. This morning the sun is shining and the temps are actually supposed to get up to 60!! Hopefully, the sun will show up in Virginia today, too!

I saw your comment on Carolyn's blog and it touched me. I could relate to what you wrote, both about being brought to tears and at turning 50--except that turning 50 will be in two months for me. So I dropped by your blog. I LOVE your pictures and was both intrigued and touched by your post on Easter. What a beautiful blog you have!

We are headed to Kentucky tonight and I had hoped to see daffodils, but my mom says they're just about gone. It will, however, be 75 which is better even better than the 65 we're to get this week-end. I still think I would rather have seen the daffodils.

Hi, Joy for Your Journey,

Thank you for stopping in! You must have a June birthday, as I do. Enjoy your last weeks of being 49! Once you hit the big 5-0its all downhill from there.... ;)

Hi, Caution,

Feast your eyes on the daffodils on the blogs and then go enjoy those temps in the 70's!! That sounds heavenly to me right now.

Have a wonderful trip! Drive safe and....take some pictures along the way!

Daffodils are my flower. When I was young my Grandma helped me do a little sampler of them.

Beautiful photos. Thank you.

And what beauties they are! I love daffodils, probably because they bring so much cheer after a long dark winter, and are announcing summer is just around the corner.

Daffodils are one of my favorites, along with sunflowers, because they are both so danged bright and cheerful! Great photos, can never get too many daffodils! :)

The daffodils are long gone here. Our azaleas were beautiful until the frost got them last week.

Still, I love the spring. And the fall. And the summer. Winter, not so much.

Hi, rhymsie,

Sorry to hear about the azalea blooming time being cut short. I hope it has warmed up in Georgia now.

Hi, Flea,

Fred and Bessie will show on the blog tomorrow. We're having fun getting acquainted. They certainly are characters!

********

Hi, Laura,

Sorry you missed the dogwood blooming.

B & F are complaining that they miss your cooking!

********

Hi, Pat,

What would we do without spring flowers to brighten our moods!

********

Hi, Butchy & Snickers,

Hey, I'm glad to hear that deer don't eat daffodils....I didn't know that.

Hi, Ruth,

Enjoy your daffodils' season of blooming!

Okay, I'm very jealous! The only daff that we had bloom here at the office was pelted into the ground yesterday by the snow! It was so bright and cheery too.

We had over a foot of snow out at our place yesterday...talk about a freak spring storm!

Hi, Deserthen,

Oh, your comment worries me. SNOW!! No, no! I hope it doesn't come here!
