Welcome! These SkyWatch scenes come to you from northeast Iowa, USA.

Last evening, this was the view looking east as thunderstorm clouds were moving in from the west:
A few days ago, this dark pancake of a cloud settled over our farm in early evening. Though sporting a rather menacing look, it but brought neither storm or rain.
Finally, here are the twin spires of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa. This photo was taken on Wednesday as my husband and I were driving past that tiny town. To see an interior shot of the church, go to this Flickr page.

Looks very ominous, you must see some wonderful skies in Iowa.
That top photo is fantastic! it reminds me of the Cake Wrecks blog's current photo for Mother's Day. (It's a cake with a woman's reproductive organs!) Can you see those swirling Fallopian tubes in the clouds? Or is it just me?

Great collection of photos for Sky Watch Friday. Thanks for taking the time to capture nature in motion and sharing with us all.
I like the look of the pancake cloud.
I love sky shots! Yours are so pretty!
Beautiful skywatch pictures. I was going back and forth but I can't decide which one I like best. Three very nice scenes.
Hi, Jane,
They looked more threatening than they actually were.

Hi, Poetikat,
Yes, after I took the photo last night I noticed the swirls....they reminded me of the curly horns of mountain sheep, but Fallopian tubes works, too!

Hi, Pearl Maple,

Hi, Gramma Ann,
It was dark, but didn't cause any trouble.

Hi, Flea,
Thank you!
Hi, James,
Yes, I liked them all, too, and couldn't choose just one to post!
great skywatch cloud captures...and the clouds did look pretty ominous.
have a fab friday.
Oh my! Looks like you could take off at any moment there. Terrific scary images.
The clouds look scary a bit, but I like it this way.
Wonderful sky watch shots! I love to watch the thunder-heads build in the late afternoon. Nothing better then a good t-storm as we like to call them.
That was dark, but beautiful sky watch.. Have a nice day..
Great sky watch, those are some awesome clouds.
Very nice, if slightly threatening looking, clouds, J. Nice Sky Watch. I particularly like the Lutheran church spires.
Love your wide open skies. Nice shots too. We're on a farm too, but here it is lightly hilly.
Watching a storm move in is quite a special feeling. Especially thunderstorm clouds can mowe in so fast and change shape so rapidly it's like watching a great spectacle which your lovely photos quite clearly deminstrates.
Love the first photo, such a classic beautiful country scene. ;)
I love photos of stormy skies and yours are excellent!
