I love the juxtaposition of pink stems and lilac blooms with the green buds.
Lovely purple blooms! I have never seen Spider Wort before!
One of the earliest bloomers in my beds is a Spider Wort given to me by a friend from south Arkansas. This plant is almost a wildflower in her part of the state, and I first spied it alongside the road during one of my visits to her town. She had her hubby dig one up for me and it was waiting in a bucket on my next visit. It's blooms are an annual reminder of her kindness.
