I took a picture of myself wearing this straw hat yesterday. Can you tell why I had it on?
Yup, I was raking hay with the old John Deere…
That’s so my husband could chop the hay for silage…
I was out there for about three hours. A good task for a sunny summer afternoon.

That's a great composition. I like it a lot. We don't have crops ourselves, but we do have a few acres that get bush-hogged. I do most of that mowing and love it. Cutting grass is satisfying. Looking back and seeing that you've actually accomplished something is rewarding.
Great thing you do have hay, many do not this dry year.
Great Photo.....I can clearly see who got the air conditioned tractor to drive...just kidding.
I love that second shot! Isn't it a great feeling to get the winter food supply in place?
I really love that second photo! So cool!
Not so dust free out on the field. The straw hat is always a good choice, especially if the tractor provides no cover.
Was this your first cut?
This was the 4th hay cutting of the summer. We may get a 5th, which is really unusual. The growing season started early this year.
Nice post. Hopefully you'll have even more hay harvests since we have started to get some rain!
Oh I love these photos I wore a ball cap while baling so I could wear my ear protection I am sure your hat looked much cooler:) Love the photos of the rake. B
