Cedar Trees

We saw lots of cedar trees on our drive last week.

They grow like weeds here in Iowa.

On Wikipedia I read that cedars are junipers and can live to be 850 years old.  I wonder if that's really true.  It also mentioned their aromatic wood which is used to make cedar chests.  I know that's true for I have one.

Lucky for me, goats enjoy eating them. :-)

It's just about cedar fever season here. Those of us who are allergic to their pollen hate to see them-they're definitely weeds to us! My husband cut down the three on our property this week-he's looking for something to make out of the wood-it is pretty.

We had a lot of ceder trees in western Oregon. I do know they are a slow growing tree. I do love the aroma they give off.

Nice Photos.

We have cedars at the higher elevations here in northeastern Nevada. We have used the wood while camping a few times. Always smells nice.
