Toad, Jeremiah & Friends

Do you recall when I blogged about the coincidence of the wild turkey mother and baby showing up the morning after our football team played the team from TURKEY Valley? I wondered what would appear this past Saturday morning following our second game, in which we played the "J-Hawks"!

Well.......guess what........a big, ol' toad greeted me in the barn the next morning! Perhaps, his name is "Jay"! Aren't toads just the most fascinatingly ugly creatures!! Look at that thing behind its eye........is that an ear?
Years ago, in the church I grew up in, I sang in a quartet with a guy we called "Toad". Everyone called him that.......even his family. Currently, my son has a good friend who is known as "Toad", to everyone, too.

Last Friday, after mentioning the Three Dog Night song, "Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog", in my blogpost, I walked to a bridge about one-half mile away in hopes of seeing frogs........and was treated to the sight of a quartet of them lounging contentedly in the mud (only two are in this photo)!

By golly.........Jeremiah was there!!

And his friend, Hezekiah:
And.........Nehemiah:
Along with, Zechariah-Malachi nestled further down in the oozy mud........

They informed me that their stage names are Jerry, Hezzy, KneeHi, and Zack-Eye........and "DON'T YOU DARE FORGET IT", they croaked adamantly!

(P.S. - On Saturday morning, after writing this post, I went out for a walk and was able to----for the first time in my life----photograph a HAWK!! Perhaps, HIS name is "Jay-Hawk"!! I'll post his photo later today.)
