First, we must attend to a THERMOMETER WATCH, however! Looks like the temperature was +3 degrees Fahrenheit this morning here in northeast Iowa, USA. Does that sound cold to you? It probably depends on what part of the globe you live on.
Its that time of the week again.......time for SkyWatch Friday! My sky post here is but one of hundreds from around the world........surf to
the official SkyWatch site to find links to all!

Winter has definitely made a serious debut during the past week........icicles and snowy rooftops are typical scenes around the farm now:

Nature is truly beautiful! Happy weekend! Hope you get time to visit my corner too...
Such beautiful blue skies and OMGosh, it's sooo cold there!
It was 5 degrees here this morning and the sky looked like yours.
I cant imagine a single digit reading. I think the lowest I had endured was 11 degrees. Keep warm and love your blue skies. Makes up for your freezing temps eh?
wonderful photos and BRRRRRRRRRRRR much tooo COLD for ME!
HUGS Laura
Brrr! Nice sky watch, Miss J! Love that last photo, with the shadows on the snow.
Oh no, that means we'll be that cold in a day or so.
The thermometer says it all ... and is a nice touch. It's hard to tell from a photo how could it is, but knowing that additional piece of information can set the stage for understanding the rest. Well done.
Great skywatch shots, thanks for sharing.
Cheers!

My husband covered up my outside thermometer with the tarp he covered the deck furniture with for the winter. I think he thought if I didn't know the temperature I wouldn't know I was cold. WRONG!
Pretty Life, Ms. Hays,
Thanks for stopping in! I hope its warmer where you are!

Dr. John,
Oh, its nice to know someone else has frigid temps! Congrats! Stay warm!
********
Photo Cache, Laura, Pat,
I wish I was in the south with you right now!!
********
Ruth,
Yes, its coming your way.....sorry, there's nothing I can do.....

Robert,
But, then again......I could have tampered with the thermometer and made it simply appear to point to 3degrees above zero. You never know!
*********
Guy,
Thanks for stopping in from Regina. I always think of Guy Smiley from Sesame Street when I see your name!
********
Leedra,
If only that would really work....covering up the thermometer! Give your hubby credit for trying!
Happy sky watch Friday
Love your photos. Burr it's too. cold.
Lovely wintry photos. And nice to have a reminder that things aren't too cold here, tho everyone is complaining!
Very pretty sky.
At least you get those beautiful blue shadows on the snow. Rug up and keep warm.
Beautiful skies. I really love that second photo.... and if one chooses (or maybe it's just me) you can see it as a sandy beach instead of snow. Oh... I think 3+ Farenheit sounds cold anywhere. I won't complain about 20 anymore... or at least not for the next day or so.
Brrrrr . . . I was thinking how cold it is here in the South, but it's NOTHING like what you have. The snow comes, but in tiny drifting flakes that melt almost as soon as they touch any regular ground. The porch saves snow pretty well. As do small hollowed out patches in the field - the same ones I wish Prince Farming would ride the bulldozer over to make summer haying a bit more smooth!
Grammy, Lindab, Gretchen, Arija, Raven, Reluctantfarmchik,
Thank you all for stopping by and commenting! I like the idea of seeing the snow as a sandy beach!! Yes...our hay fields have dips and bumps, too.....ouch!
22F here this morning with frost.
I too love the barren trees. Your shadow shot is my favorite. Great captures for SWF.
Beautiful photo......it has been very cold here......when I drove to work on Friday morning, it was 13 degrees....burrrrrr!
