Buster, Blog Dog

I'm Buster and---WOW---do I ever have an exciting tail for you! (Truth is, I'm an Australian Shepherd and we don't have tails. What would I do with one, anyway?)
*
But, that's "dogressing"......right? When one starts veering from the subject at paw.....er, hand. Sorry about that. Its just that I'm SO doggone excited!!
Yesterday, after Jeallenne got home from taking this stupid, ugly skid loader tire to town for repair, she and I went for a WALK on the road! Whooeee! We haven't done that for a coon's age. Which reminds me......I've chased a few raccoons up trees in my lifetime.
Here's proof......of the walk on the road, that is. There's handsome ol' ME, waiting for Slowpoke Jeallenne to catch up. We're walking to the neighbor's house to deliver a "1099 Form".......whatever the heck that is. I hope its not a dog tax.

Hey.......will you PLEEZ pay attention to me! I'm trying to tell you a tale here!

The mailman (Its awesome to chase his Jeep!) has been avoiding our mailbox because it keeps getting buried when the snowplow goes a-plowin' by. Who cares, though.......no bills get delivered that way.

That's it........you're not taking enough notice of me. You leave me no choice but to take more drastic action. PAY ATTENTION TO ME or deal with the PAW!
While I bounded across snowpiles along the road, Jeallenne kicked clods and chunks away from the mailbox and threw them in......er, ON the ditch.
OK. That's my story. Hope you liked it. I'll quit jumping now so you can pet me.......PLEEZ.
Here's a pet joke for ya:
"Teachers pet??"
"Why sure they do!"
*
(Oh, dear.......Jeallenne might not like that one. Don't tell her I told you.)
*
HAVE A DOGGONE GOOD DAY!

Your dog is so funny! That's an awful lot of snow y'all have. Could be good to not get bills for a while, lol!

Smokey says hi to Buster and envies him for gettting to go for long walks without a leash. City dogs always have to have their leashes on. Smokey also says that we have a lot of snow. He wants to know why Buster left out one of the best things about winter walks: making the snow turn yellow. Maybe it's a dog thing and not proper for human blogs, huh?

Love Buster's post, Jeallenne!

I'm reaching right through the screen to give that dog a scratch behind the ears and accept a big, sloppy ol' kiss! Mwwaahh! (Don't tell my cats.)

Love that last photo, Jeallenne!

Hey, Jeannelle, are you "following" me yet? I follow you. If you sign up today, you can be #60! That would make me happier than your lovely dog!

Funny blog! And funny, our skid steer also had a flat tire yesterday.. The spare was on the silage wagon, which was at my cousins, so they had to get it home first, and slowly I think, because it had been in a mishap, and was bent out of shape, thus a smaller tire in one spot. There are big plans to redo the whole thing soon. Never a dull moment. Dairymary

Hey, Buster, this is Jethro in Georgia. My coat is the color of your Iowa snow, so my human cannot take pictures of me in it like yours can. There's also the fact that we don't have any snow.

I have never met a dog without a tail before. That doesn't diminish your essential doghood one bit. You don't want to know what my human told the vet to do to me.

Try to get Jeallenne to understand, if she has learned doggie language yet, the she needs to be checked for dyslexia. She has yet to spell her name correctly on her blog.

Arf Arf and a pack of Woofs,
Jethro the Havanese

Hey Buster! This is Danny....my sister is Oregontribal1 and she knows I have a tail...I'm also Australian Sheperd with a LOT of energy!! My birth momma didn't have the heart to dock my tail....so it looked like a white feather when I was a baby!! My sister always knew where to find me in the dark...can't fool her! Today, my niece is coming to visit..but first she has to go to the vet and get shots, and a license too....dang! I'm older than her and she gets to DRIVE???? It's just not fair!!
Well, I gotta go find my "cookie-bone" before the cats do...they eat my cookies when they think I'm not looking?! Many woofs and a few howls going out to you! Paws, Danny & Teresa

Buster, the Australian Shepherd, well he'd have to be the best dog in the whole world if his breed comes from Australia......

And no tail!! Is the breed tail
less or is the tail chopped off when they are young?

I'm not familiar with this type of dog though he looks a lot like a couple of well known Australian sheepdog breeds crossed.

Just as long as he does the job on the farm that's the important thing.

Woof, woof.....so happy to meet you all. I finally was able to sneak here to the computer room. Had to tip-paw past Jeallenne hunched over her table-full of tax papers. Why does she bother with that stuff? She should have just come outdoors and romped around with me today.

Laura.....glad to meet you. What's a snork? It is like a bark?

*********

Hi, Nancy M.....happy you stopped by.....help yourself to some snow.

**********

Gail......aww, you think I'm cute. That's nice. I think I am, too.

**********

Hi, della.....hmm, I wonder what "folding dog stairs" are. Guess I'll have to go see.

**********

Ruth.....please give my regards to Smokey. Oh, I would absolutely detest a leash. Heh, heh.....tell Smokey I'm chuckling over the mention of yellow snow....puts some color in those otherwise drably white snowdrifts....heh, heh.

*********

Woof, Pat.....I'll pass the message on to her, but wait, you directed it at me, so, thank you very much!

********

PoetiKAT.....thanks for the ear scratch....I felt it. But, did you have to mention cats? Eee-ooh. J. follows me, so maybe she will follow you, too. I'll tell her. Nobody's happier than me, though.

*********

Hi, Deb.....Thanks....yes, I know I'm a cutie!

********

Hi, Butchy & Snickers,

Yeah, our humans get sorta lazy or something this time of year, don't they. Start barking in the house, then maybe they'll let you out.

*********

Hi, Dairymary,

Oh, you had a much worse time with your flat tire than my master did with his. He pumped some air into it to get through chores, then took it off.....didn't have to deal with a spare. Hope yours gets all fixed soon. And, I agree....never a dull moment around here, either....especially with ME around.

*********

Hi, Jethro.....nice to meet a Havanese, though I don't have any idea what that is. Are you from Havana?

Jeallenne's ditsy and dizzy, so she's probably dyslexic, too, at times.

Oh-h....I bet I know what you're talking about with the vet. I'm lucky, they want me to father some pups in the future. Sounds fun, but there's no cooperative females dogs around here. Betsy is a career-woman dog and won't have anything to do with me. The vet says some hard-working girl dogs are like that. It doesn't help my self-esteem any, though.

*******

Hi there, Danny....thanks for the woofy greetings. Oh, that's a good joke about the "license". You're not only a tailed Aussie Shepherd, you're a clever one. My master says I was born with no tail, but Betsy had hers docked. Maybe they're just trying to spare me the trauma of thinking of having my tail docked. I have a little nubbin back there that wags when I get excited, so maybe that counts as a tail. Egads.....I have to share food with cats, too.

*********

Woof, Dr.John....Yeah, I got so excited when Jeallenne pulled that camera out of her pocket yesterday. I love to pose for pics!

********

Arf, Egghead......So happy to hear you like seeing my nose close up. Cold nose....warm heart!

*********

Hi, alphabet soup,

You bet we are the best dog breed! I think you are close to the truth in saying we started as a mixture of two or three livestock dogs, and I'm not even sure we really came from Australia. I have no clue why the humans want us sans tails. My master says some Aussies are born with no tails and others are docked. Oh, that word "chopped" just gives me the shivers.

*****

A woofy good-night to you all!

What a great post there Jeanelle. And what an adorable friend you have there to go for walks with. I so love that first photo. Grin....you are quite the humorist...I had NO idea!

Jeannelle said...

Hi, Trish......I'll speak for Buster this morning.....he's out helping get cows back in the barn. Thank you for your kind words. The nice thing about dogs.....no matter what MY mood is, Buster's demeanor is ever enthusiastic and friendly. Have a good day!

Great post! Loved meeting Buster. You can keep all of that snow! I can't believe how much you have! And I worry when we get 5 or 6 inches!! Wish the snow would bury my mail box...hate those darn bills!! Tell Buster that our Cleo would love to meet him, but she would need a parka to wear if she was going to go on a walk in that much snow...=)
