Ernest's Mother

Another photo from Germany.........Ernest's mother with two granddaughters, who would be Ernest's nieces. His mother appears to have the lustrous blue eyes which were passed down to Husband's mother. One of Husband's nieces, who is six feet tall, resembles Ernest's mother in facial features, making me curious as to whether Ernest's mother was tall, too.

The questions we can ask of no one!

How cool! You can tell from looking at the photo that her eyes were very blue...I enlarged it to see more detail. The neices are very stunning with their dark hair and eyes. Don't you just wish that pictures could talk and tell us the answers to the questions we have.

Hi, Gail, Deserthen, Pat,

I love seeing the details in the dresses and shoes. And, I wonder what book the mother is holding.

Would you believe this photo was in a box that my father-in-law put on our burn pile a few years ago. He had been cleaning a closet and found a boxful of old photos he didn't recognize and decided to just pitch them. Boy, am I ever glad I happened to walk by the burn pile and rescued the box after he left that day. It stormed a short time later, so they'd have been ruined by rain even before being burned up.

I love these old photos.

The restoration on the other one is absolutely amazing.

Your pictures are great. Look at the scroll work on that door! I am glad you were able to save this piece of your families past.
