Maple Trees’ Spring Fancy

 25th 013

The maple trees are flowering right now……a brief burst of blossoms heralding the eruption of new leaves.

Such show-offs!

The above photos are of a hard maple tree and the two below are from a soft maple.  You can see the winged propeller seed pods forming.

Have a happy day!  Enjoy the springtime tree displays in your area.

Bessie is supposed to arrive home this evening.  I can’t wait to hear her report about the womens’ conference.

I widened the blog wrappers some more.  If your computer screen will not accommodate the blog’s width, please let me know.  Thanks.

Blog wrappers are fine for me... I have mine set very wide as well so that I can display large photos like 720's and 800's if I so choose..... love the pics today. They are showing off, aren't they? lol

It is exciting to FINALLY see the start of leaves on the trees! My new baby maple has tiny greens peeking out. Am looking forward to Bessie's report.

Wonderful signals of spring and taken quiet beatifullyl.
The pollen count is the highest it has ever been this time of year. I have been told it is from the trees. I think they are working over time to catch up with the damage. They will survive!

Hi, Blue Ridge Gal,

I'm happy the blog can fill in more of the computer screen now. There was much blank space before.

Hi, Gramma Ann,

You may have had a rainy day, too. Everything will really green up from now on. We will have to start mowing the lawn :(

Hi, Leenie,

And, to think I went most of my life not even noticing the maple flowerings in springtime.

Yes, yes.....Bessie will be home soon. Then I will listen to her report and hopefully be able to write up some semblance of a blog post about it.

Hi, Gail,

That's interesting about the high pollen counts. You could be right about the trees working overtime. Do you have allergies? I have mild pollen allergies....it bothers me mostly in the late summer and early autumn, but sometimes in spring, too. I don't medicate for it.....just keep lots of kleenex around.

Hi, Trish,

Thanks for the kind words! Fred & Bessie, the traveling cows, are staying here at our farm for a few weeks.

You have a great week, too!

Lovely photos Janelle. Spring with all the buds bursting is such a heartening time of the year - especially, I'm sure, in your part of the world where the winters are so cold.

Lovely photos of spring! Aren't these trees so elegant in their simplicity? Nicely done.
Happy Monday!

Beautiful shots! The trees here are popping their buds like crazy this past week. There are pink trees here at the office, but I haven't gone out to see what kind they are or taken photos yet. They are lovely though.
