SkyWatch #58

08 20_0124 Welcome, SkyWatchers! SW is over one year old now…….it seems to have staying power. Skies and clouds simply hold endless fascination for us, don’t they!

These are a few shots taken yesterday. We were treated to an interlude of sunshine and amazing cloud formations in the midst of a rainy afternoon.

By the time I reached my own driveway, a rainbow was casting its magical glow……

Oh, these are so vibrant and interesting! We've had mostly endless blue skies lately. I'm not complaining, though! But stormy weather makes for much more beautiful skies!

True. The skies are endlessly interesting, because they are so alive: they just keep changing, and there never are any repetitions: as long as there is even one cloud around, changes keep rolling in...

What a beautiful sky world! I especially loved the photo through the windscreen of raindrops and a drop of rainbow light on the road!

Hi, Regina,

It was an incredible sight, really....not often do we see such commanding cloud formations.

Lovely! I am just fascinated with cloud formations - especially when they look like bubbles just piled up on the horizen! That rainbow - you are lucky you caught it.

Beautiful.

When I look at clouds I think of several different things. One is God and the heavens (in awe), another is mountains, and then I think about flying sometimes. Looking down into the clouds.

Beautiful!

Yeah, the rainbow was a lucky shot. Thanks for the kind words!

Hi, Mary,

My daughter was telling me about her flight over the Atlantic yesterday, and, yes, she mentioned looking down into the clouds.

You know, when I was young Iowa never held my attention, but these storm clouds do!
