Also found on the wildflower journey mentioned in yesterday’s post was this Sneezeweed. It did not make me sneeze, however.
A few weeks ago, it was Coneflowers who were providing yellow splashes in the roadside ditches. Now that bright task has been taken over by Sow Thistles…..
…..and, an array of blossoms of the sunflower-type.
You may have noticed the bee in the second photo. The road ditches are abuzz now in late summer and I avoid wading too far into the underbrush.

I have spent the last 30 minutes reading your blog and looking at your beautiful pictures. Have you ever entered any in the state fair? They are gorgeous. I'm also a fellow Iowan and am thinking about doing a garden blog but it would not compare with yours and others that I have been reading. You've done a great job with yours. Thanks for all the pictures that you take.
Thank you for your kind words, Stitches! No, I've never entered photos at the State Fair, but have considered doing such.
Your Stitches, etc. blog is very nice. I loved the frog story. Its fun to blog about everyday things that happen. As for a garden blog...as they say, "Just do it!"
I have never heard of Sneezeweed the name just tickles me. =)
Jeannelle, you really should enter some of your photos in the fair. They are wonderful and worthy of Big Blue Ribbons! =)
Thanks for your kind words, too, Deserthen! Maybe sometime I'll check into how complicated it would be to do a fair entry. I'm not much into complicated.....
Great photos!
