While wildflower hunting yesterday I found this bird nest. I was able to get a close look because there were no scolding parents nearby.
The blue eggs look like they have graffiti on them! I think they belong to a red-wing blackbird.
The brown speckled eggs probably belong to a cowbird. Interestingly enough, they lay their eggs in other birds’ nests!

I'm always amazed at the cowbirds lack of parenting :) Love that second shot.
Haha so these birds are squatters... or, perhaps not. It is rather smart of them really. Theydo not have to make their nest themselves :) Love the images.
Cool picture. I don't think I am familiar with the cow bird. Will need to look that one up
