Bird Nest

While wildflower hunting yesterday I found this bird nest.  I was able to get a close look because there were no scolding parents nearby.

Copy of June 13 (28) The blue eggs look like they have graffiti on them!  I think they belong to a red-wing blackbird.

June 13 (24) The brown speckled eggs probably belong to a cowbird.  Interestingly enough, they lay their eggs in other birds’ nests!

I've been enjoying your wildflower shots, but this is a great one! A great find!

I'm always amazed at the cowbirds lack of parenting :) Love that second shot.

Haha so these birds are squatters... or, perhaps not. It is rather smart of them really. Theydo not have to make their nest themselves :) Love the images.

Cool picture. I don't think I am familiar with the cow bird. Will need to look that one up
