A Fleeing Oriole

Not a good shot, but it was the best I could get yesterday of this colorful Baltimore Oriole. He was checking out this Oriole nest used in previous years.

Blue Blooms

Not sure of the name of this little flowering bush......the tag got lost. These blossoms are tiny and fragile:

Prairie Phlox

One of my favorite wildflowers! Prairie phlox grows wild along the roadsides around here. Colors range from white to lavendar to pink and in between.

Golden Columbine

AKA Aquilegia "Denver Gold"
I'm experimenting with a different lens, too......one that works better for close-up shots.

Randomness

IMG_7212

There’s not much rhyme or reason to this post. Or how about, there’s NO rhyme or reason. I liked the photos, that’s all.

Thanks for putting up with the randomness!

Last Hurrah Fall Colors

IMG_7178

Sheesh…..its been so long since my last blogpost, I hardly remember how to do it, but here goes….

IMG_7168

These scenes are from today, when the magic wand of mid-morning sunshine bestowed the perfect touch on these final colors of autumn.

A spent Bachelor’s Button plus a bud which probably won’t get the chance to bloom:

Wish I could think of something profound to say. Thanks for stopping by for a look-see and a hi-dee-ho and all that. Take care and I hope all is well in your world!

SkyWatch

IMG_7026 Welcome to this SkyWatch blogpost! These photos were taken this morning. Autumn is in the air, obviously, though the green pasture field below could mislead one into believing summer is still here.

IMG_7018 I’m sneaking the next photo in, too, despite the blurry sky. Soon the cornstalks will be swallowed up by dusty, roaring combines chomping their way across the landscape.

Nothing particularly spectacular to report---just scenes from this morning’s walk.
