"Blog for Iowa" Blog

Here's a blog I just found.....Blog for Iowa. Today's post concerns health care reform. It mentions a small business owner in Iowa who just found out that his health insurance premiums are going up 80%. That's crazy! Insurance companies have everyone over a barrel and it needs to be stopped.

Socialized medicine IS NOT the answer.

I am hanging in the air right now without it. At 50 years old it can be a tad bit scary.

Hi, Maybelline,

I have no idea what the answer is, but something has to change. I think first of all....right now....all medical fees and costs need to be frozen....no more increases. Costs are out of line. When a doctor can get $100 for five minutes of time and one sentence, "How are you today?", something is very wrong. When an ambulance ride costs $750/hour, something is very wrong. Costs are out of control and somebody has to be able to say, "enough is enough". Who is going to say it?

Hi, Mary,

Blessings to you. May you stay healthy for many, many years, and there's nothing saying that you won't. Health insurance doesn't guarantee good health.

Hi, Leenie,

Can you tell the subject of health insurance really gets my goat? It has for years and usually I try hard not to think about it. Don't know what got into me today.

Hi, stickhorsecowgirls,

Thank you for stopping by and for your good words. Yes, I'm always in awe of Country Girl's excellent photography and writing. Hers was one of the first blogs I ever found and I was immediately hooked. Thanks for your link....I will check it out.
