The Future of Dairy Farming?

A blogging friend, Sempringham, sent me the link to this YouTube video:

I don't really know what to say. Apparently, this may be the future of dairy "farming". Each state will have a handful of these gigantic facilities providing milk for the population. Why, really, do any of the rest of us even try anymore?

I would just like to say that this depresses me.

Hi, Sempringham,

It depresses me, too, but thanks for sending the link....it is certainly interesting. I had not heard of the place before. It can provide milk to all of Chicago and then some.....that's mind-boggling!

Looking back to the farms of my childhood who would ever had thought it would come to this. This is not a farm... it's a circus. All about big corporation greed. Sad. So sad that the small farmer simply does not have a chance of survival when going up against this. And I don't like the fact that the birthing area is open to the public. What a zoo.
